U.S. Rep. Mike Bost, R-Illinois, recently visited the Marion VA Medical Center in Illinois, speaking with Vietnam veterans to discuss a report that uncovered misread radiology scans at the facility.

“We met with the radiology group today,” Bost said in an interview with NBC’s WPSD. “We listened. They are working to improve that. We believe that they are. We believe they are meeting the goals and criteria that was set forth by the report to make sure that what happened here as far as the reading of the x-rays does not happen again.”

Though impacted patients were notified of reading errors, Bost and U.S. Rep. Phil Roe, MD, R-Tennessee, met with a group of veterans who said the misread scans will cost a friend his life.
