Allstate files complaint against New York radiology providers, alleging fraud

Allstate Insurance and entities related to Allstate filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York on Oct. 18 against Rockville Centre Diagnostic Imaging and Diagnostic Imaging of Rockville Centre, alleging they “wrongfully paid” approximately $1.3 million for fraudulent charges related to diagnostic radiology services.

Allstate alleges the centers were "unlawfully managed and controlled by one or more non-physician" and the centers tendered "hundreds of fraudulent or non-compensable charges" for radiology services, according to a summary of the case on Legal NewsLine.

“The plaintiffs allege the defendants are not eligible to seek or collect no-fault benefit payments and as a result of the defendants' conduct, the plaintiffs were wrongfully induced to make no-fault payments totaling $1.3 million,” the summary read.
