French software application manufacturer Olea Medical announced this week it has received FDA clearance for its Olea Sphere 3.0 software.
Olea Sphere is imaging processing software developed to help with picture archiving, post-processing, and communication. It standardizes the viewing and analysis of MRI and CT datasets, and runs on all standard workstations.
According to Olea Medical, this clearance paves the way for the company’s Intravoxel Incoherent Motion (IVIM), metabolic, and relaxometry post-processing modules.
“The FDA clearance of this new version of Olea Sphere, including new advanced post-processing modules, is a confirmation of our capacity of innovation,” Fayçal Djeridane, president and CEO of Olea Medical, said in a prepared statement. “It is with great pride that we introduce these new developments on a highly demanding market. We believe such new options will add significant value in the day-to-day clinical practice for the highest benefit to patients worldwide.”
Olea Medical was acquired by Toshiba Medical Systems in October 2015. Just last week, news broke that Canon had acquired Toshiba Medical Systems from Toshiba for more than $6 billion.
