Beverly G. Coleman receives SRU Distinguished Service Award

Beverly G. Coleman, MD, a radiologist at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), is the 2018 recipient of the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound (SRU) Distinguished Service Award.

Coleman is also the director of fetal imaging at CHOP’s Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment (CDDT). She received the award Oct. 4 at the SRU Annual Meeting in San Diego.

“On behalf of the entire CHOP team, I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to Dr. Coleman,” N. Scott Adzick, MD, surgeon-in-chief at CHOP, said in a prepared statement. “She approaches every case with care, providing families with facts and guidance that allow them to make well-informed decisions. She is the best fetal sonography physician in the world and you can take her prenatal diagnoses to the bank. This is an incredible and well-deserved honor, and we are proud to work alongside her every day.”

Coleman has worked at CHOP’s CFDT since 1995, when it first opened. She has also held leadership positions in numerous academic societies and currently serves as the ultrasound commission chair for the American College of Radiology. She completed her residency in radiology, and a fellowship, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
