Jonathan R. Lindner elected president of American Society of Echocardiography

Jonathan R. Lindner, MD, was elected president of the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) at the ASE’s 29th Annual Scientific Sessions in Nashville, Tennessee.

Lindner is a professor at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland and specializes in cardiovascular imaging and microvascular physiology. He is currently the principal investigator on research grants from the National Institutes of Health and the NASA National Space and Biomedical Research Institute.

“I am honored and look forward to serving as ASE's 30th president,” Lindner said. “ASE is committed to improving healthcare not only in North America but worldwide through science, innovation, technology, and education. I plan on leveraging my background as a translational scientist to make sure our society continues to shape the evolution of cardiovascular ultrasound.”

Prior to become president of ASE, he served as the society’s vice president and president-elect. He also belongs to numerous other industry organizations and is on the editorial board of Circulation: Cardiovascular Imaging.
