The measure to extend funding through Feb. 18 does not include any of the changes championed by physicians. 

As lawmakers look to tackle other issues first, the college said it's possible Congress may address doc pay cuts retroactively in 2022. 

Physician groups such as the Society of Interventional Radiology and American Medical Association previously voiced support for such mandates. 

The agency was set to start requiring physicians to work with payers to provide an upfront "explanation of benefits," but will hold off on the change following a backlash. 

Radiologists who collected such assistance between April-June, 2020, must report on their use of the funds by Sept. 30. 

The U.S. House finalized legislation in a 384-38 vote, drawing praise from the American Medical Association and other provider groups. 

The Medical Group Management Association called the legislation a "failure" for excluding fee-for-service Medicare and most commercial plans. 

Lawmakers are pushing to include the measure in an end-of-year legislative package, but practice leaders are worried they're moving too fast.
